Cookery Workshops

The cookery workshops are run for larger groups and are always interactive and participatory. We design bespoke sessions which can be orientated around a variety of themes and topics. Community Chef has a fully mobile kitchen which means that cookery workshops and cookery demonstrations can take place in most locations.

We deliver these for Government and health agencies, Local, County and City councils, children and family centres, schools and community groups. These workshops are a fun, efficient and effective way of helping people to digest the key change4life messages.  Cookery workshops include:

  • Healthy snacks and packed lunches

Nourish Yourself - Wellbeing Workshops
Wellbeing workshops and inset days for people who want to proactively improve their health and wellbeing in a nurturing, supportive environment. They can be run for people with long term medical issues, support groups, community groups, school staff and with businesses and voluntary organisations. Participants are able to improve their cookery skills, take nutritional advice, be in nature, participate in taster sessions or from a choice of well-being activities, including yoga, meditation and tai chi, drumming, art and singing.

Nourish Yourself Cookery Workshops
Holistic cookery and nutrition workshops with qulaified practioners on:

  • Healing with wholefoods 
  • Healing herbs for health
  • Ayervedic cookery and medicine
  • Raw food diets
  • Chinese theraputic cookery
  • Food allergies and special diets

Tasty Lunchbox Day
School-focused interactive tasting and cookery workshops for children, and training for parents and staff on preparing and packing healthier and tastier lunchboxes.

Good Food for All
Socio-political workshops and inset days exploring local, national and global food issues, such as fair trade, food sovereignty, food miles and obesity. Participants get to find out about local community food projects and learn practical skills for ensuring good food for all.

Healthy Transitions
A series of school based workshops which use cookery and creative group activities to help improve children's physical and emotional health and well-being, and to help make the transition from primary school to secondary school a positive and enjoyable process.

Community Catering
These workshops involve participants in the creation of a shared meal, whether for themselves or for an event at the school or organisation.
